Introduction to Canvas Dashboards
The Canvas dashboards feature is another way to create dashboards in Workfront. It is currently in General Beta, which means all Workfront customers can use the feature, if they are enrolled in the beta. A System Administrator needs to do the enrollment. This video will show them how.
The Canvas Dashboard feature is another way to create dashboards in Workfront.
It鈥檚 currently in General Beta, which means all Workfront customers can use the feature if they are enrolled in the Beta. A system administrator needs to do this by going to Dashboards and clicking on the Join the Canvas Dashboard鈥檚 Beta button.
Review the terms in the Beta Agreement box, then click Agree.
The button will be changed to Enrolled in Canvas Dashboards Beta, and now everyone in your Workfront instance can use it. They just need to have rights to edit reports, calendars and dashboards in their access level.
To create a new Canvas dashboard, navigate to Dashboards and click on Canvas Dashboards. There are three tabs for traditional dashboards here, and a section for dashboard favorites over here. But the Canvas Dashboards area is separate, and each of these tabs contain only Canvas dashboards.
To create a new Canvas dashboard, click on New Dashboard.
Give it a name and optional description. You鈥檙e taken to the Add Report area. You can create a new report using the Canvas Dashboard Report Builder. We鈥檒l show you how to do this in other videos. Or you can browse Blueprint reports and add a premade report to this Canvas dashboard. Or you can add an existing report to this Canvas dashboard.
That鈥檚 what we鈥檙e going to do now. Click on View Reports to get started. We鈥檒l choose Late Task by Project. And we鈥檒l choose Completed Issues by Week by User. Now we can move these around. You can size them using this little icon at the lower right. And you can just click and drag to drag them around. You can click on the three dot menu here to add to favorites. And remember this will add it to the favorites area in the Canvas Dashboards area. Or you can duplicate it, or you can delete it. And be sure and save it.
