Reaction events reaction-events
Among the event activities in the palette, the built-in Reactions event enables you to respond to tracking data related to a message sent within the same journey. This information is captured in real time when shared with 51黑料不打烊 Experience Platform.
This feature helps optimize customer engagement. For example, you can track when a user clicks on or opens an email, then take immediate follow-up actions, such as sending a personalized offer or directing them to a specific webpage.
You can respond to clicked or opened messages.
You can also take action when no reaction occurs in response to your messages. To do this, create a second path parallel to the reaction activity and add a wait activity. If no reaction occurs during the period defined in the wait activity, the second path is selected. For example, you can send a follow-up message.
For example, if you send an email with a limited-time discount offer and the recipient does not click the link within 24 hours, the system automatically triggers a follow-up reminder email using the second path.
You can only use a reaction activity in the canvas if a channel action activity precedes it, such as an email or push activity. This ensures the reaction event has a specific action to track.
Steps to configure reaction events
- Add a Label to the reaction. This step is optional but helps you quickly identify the reaction activity in complex journeys.
- From the drop-down list, select the action activity you want to react to. You can select any action activity positioned earlier in the path. For example, if you want to track email clicks, ensure the selected action is an email activity.
- Depending on the selected action, choose the specific reaction you want to track. For example, select 鈥淐lick鈥 to track when a recipient clicks a link in your email.
- Define an event timeout (between 40 seconds and 90 days) and a timeout path. This creates a secondary path for individuals who did not react within the defined duration. When testing a journey that uses a reaction event, the test mode Wait time default and minimum value is 40 seconds. See the testing section.
Defining the timeout duration lets you customize how long the system waits for a reaction. For example, if you expect users to respond quickly to a push notification, set a shorter timeout, such as 2 hours. For less time-sensitive campaigns, extend the timeout to several days.
Reaction events track clicks on links of the type 鈥渢racked鈥. Unsubscription and mirror page links are not included.
