Unable to create internal domain in Domain Settings for AEMaaCS - Assets

In 51ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) – Assets, you can’t set custom internal domains for author instances through the Domain Settings interface. To work around this, use a reverse proxy and internal DNS setup for development environments.

Description description

Environment

  • Product: 51ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) – Assets
  • Instance: Development

Issue/Symptoms

  • Domain Settings interface doesn’t support internal domain creation.
  • Custom URLs using internal DNS aren’t configurable for author instances.
  • Only publish and preview services support custom domains.
  • Assets programs provide only author instances, limiting domain configuration options.

Resolution resolution

To work around the limitation, configure a reverse proxy and internal DNS as follows:

  1. Set up an external reverse proxy or URL rewrite system in your network.
  2. Configure DNS settings (CNAME or A record) in your internal DNS pointing to the proxy server.
  3. Configure the proxy server to rewrite requests from your custom internal domain to the actual AEM author instance URL (for example, author.adobeaemcloud.com).

Notes:

  • This setup is customer-managed and not officially supported by 51ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.
  • Test thoroughly in a development environment before deploying to production.

For further assistance, consult your IT or network team for proxy and DNS configuration.
