Issue/Symptoms
- Attempting to change the impersonator user results in an error message stating Invalid User.
- After reloading the page, it appears that the impersonation has occurred, but with unexpected behavior, like resources are not accessible.
- There is uncertainty about whether actions are being performed under the impersonated user鈥檚 account.
Resolution resolution
Cause
This is a known issue for release 19352 that was fixed in release 19586 (or later).
To try to resolve this issue:
- Ensure that the editor or target user for impersonation is part of the correct group. The default everyone 聽group does not grant sufficient permissions for editing or impersonation tasks. Add the user to appropriate groups, such as authors,聽to ensure that聽they have the necessary permissions.
- Confirm if your environment is running on an older release version (e.g., 19352). If so, upgrade to release version 19586 or later, which includes a fix.
